RS Archery Club

RS Archery club is an archery club with a difference!

Based in Sir Frederic Osborn School, Welwyn Garden City AL7 2AF

Boasting both a large outdoor and indoor facilities the club hosts various archery related activities from
normal target archery, rowing archery (shooting at unmarked distanced targets) and even clout / distance shooting.

The club's main objective is to promote archery whilst having fun in a safe environment.

RS Archery Club meets every Thursday at 7.30pm-9pm
with regular "extra" special archery activities (see below) on selected weekends (to be confirmed and advised in advance)

The Archery club is run by husband & wife team Steven Davies (qualified GNAS Archery coach of 7 years+) & Rebekah Davies (an archer of 10 years+) We welcome both novice & expert archers. There is unfortunately a minimum of age of 8 but lucky no maximum! Regular archery beginner sessions are organised which once completed entitles you to join the club as a member (subject to terms & conditions)

Don't worry if you don't have your own equipment on our archery beginner sessions we provide all the equipment* required as well as coaching and of course a fun time. You will be instructed on how to shoot the modern Olympic Style recurve bow (shown below) this is the quickest and best bow to learn the correct way to shoot

So what happens once you have joined the club.

* Do I need my own equipment?? - No you are more than welcome to use our equipment
although we would eventually encourage you to purchase your own and are happy to advise you
on what's right for you. (this helps the club introduce new members)

Special archery events

Because we are lucky to have such an excellent venue we can run our special archery events, these events can range from

Clout - shooting anything up to 150 yards at a target on the floor
Rowing shooting - shooting at targets at unmarked distances - the targets can vary from normal to funny pictures in fact anything we want!
Competitions - (fun and serious) both team and individual.
Medieval camp out with the medieval team

The archery club isn't just a place to shoot it's a place to socialize, meet friends but and above have fun!
We will be organizing BBQ's, Christmas meals etc. We are of course always open to suggestions on special events.



Do I get anything else with my membership?

Yes you do, you will entitled to 10% (excluding venue or extra's hire) of any other event that you wish
to hire us for - a medieval archery party, family fun day or archery corporate day etc.
