Mini Meds Birthday parties (for ages 5-7)

Medieval music - artist/s unknown

Stuck for birthday party ideas for the younger kids?
Try something new, exciting & original that will have the children taking about it for weeks!
Our mini med's birthday parties are great for all inspiring Robin Hoods & Maid Marion's aged 5-7 If your children are older then please see our medieval archery birthday parties which will be more suited to them.

We will keep the children busy for a full 1.5 hours of non-stop mini medieval birthday fun. If we don't, you can put us in the stocks! (we haven't been put in yet)

Check out the authentic medieval equipment. Handle weapons, arrows, bows, armour and learn a little about medieval life in a fun way that both children & adults will enjoy.

Our birthday parties are excellent outdoors, but during the winter months (October-March) we would strongly recommend a hired hall (e.g. school, church, community centre, sports hall).
The approximate size required is 20ft x 20ft. All venues may require assessment and need to be hired for 3.5 hours (1 hour set up, 1.5 hours party, 1 hour break down).

What will the children have a go at?
Crossbow
Quintain
Feed the dragon
Stocks
Rat Hunt
throwing quoits
Racing Rats

Simple & easy weapon to master shooting at our mock castle with knight, princess & dragon! (rubber blunted bolts for safety)
Medieval jousting practice
Throwing food into the open mouths of our dragon
s isn't as easy as it looks but great fun!
For those naughty children
A manic fast moving game to see which team can find the most rats (no rats will be hurt in this game!)
A very simple quick game of thrown the hoop over a post.
Pit your rat in a race back to your team (does your team have the fastest rat?)
Rough guide to how the mini meds birthday party will run

Most important is the safety talk!
Then it's straight into the crossbow an easy but fun weapon that everyone can master very quickly.

After having some fun shooting we let the child have a brief break/rest from the action while we show them various weapons/clothing/armour (chain mail, swords, arrows, spears, etc. all blunted for safety

It's then back into the action with one team having a go at feed the dragon game while the other team charges at the Quintain. They of course then swap over.

Both teams are brought back together to have a go at the rat hunt - a manic fast moving game!
This is followed by each of them being placed in the stock - only for a laugh (unless you cross our palms with gold!)

Going back on to the rat theme - it's the Rat Race - as the name suggests the group get back into teams and see which team can get their rat back to them the fasted.

Throwing Quiots is a simple but challenging event was later converted into a fair ground event of hopla.

It’s very rare but if we have any spare time the children can then choose which activity they would like to do again.
At the end of the mini med's birthday party each child is “Knighted” and is presented with a scroll to remember the party.
The birthday person’s scroll will be personalised with their name.
