Medieval Archery Birthday party (for ages 7+)

Archery practice, sword practice/fighting, medieval stocks, an archery tournament, appointing as Captain of Archers, Historic fun & more!
Our medieval archery birthday parties are great for ages 7 upwards. As with all our archery birthday parties, we are mobile, insured, CRB checked & most of all we don’t mind wearing silly clothes!
- We will keep the children busy for a full 1.5 hours of non-stop medieval archery, birthday party fun. If we don’t, you can put us in the stocks! (we haven’t been put in yet)

Our medieval archery birthday party can be held outdoors, although during the winter months (October-March) we would strongly recommend a hired hall (e.g. school, church, community centre, sports hall). Approximate size required is 20ft x 30ft (6m x 10m)
All venues may require assessment & will need to be hired for 3.5 hours (1 hour set up, 1.5 hours party, 1 hour break down).

- The Stocks – for those naughty ones!

- Archery Tournament – which team will win?
- Appointment of Capitain of Archers – a very important position
Important is the safety talk!
Then it’s straight into the Archery (longbows shooting at our castle in two teams) shooting at our medieval mock castle with knight, princess & dragon! (using rubber blunted arrows)
After having some fun practice shooting we let the children have a break/rest from the action while we talk to them about the life that we led in the medieval times and show them various medieval arrows, bows etc. all blunted for safety).
At this stage the children we demonstrate some sword fighting
(for safety reasons children can’t do this with real swords – but is great fun to watch!)
However the children do get to have a go at sword fighting (something that an archer would have had to learn’t the basics) with wooden swords (wasters) against a hanging sack/dummy
Following on from the sword practice, if the archer or infact anybody had been naughty – Its in the Stocks they go!
Only for a laugh of course & we will release them (unless you cross our palms with gold!)
It’s back to some more archery with the Archery Tournament – Which team will be victorious!!!
At the end of the medieval archery party each child is appointed “capitain of archers” – a very important and well paid job.
The birthday boy or girl is appointted & presented with a personalised medieval style scroll with their name on it (extra non personalised scrolls for all party children are charged at £1.00 each)
